CHUTNEY, QUINCE JABANERO APPLE PEAR

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup sugar

  • ¼ cup rice vinegar or hot pepper vinegar
  • 1 orange, zested
  • 1 orange, peeled, seeded, chopped
  • 1 lime, peeled, seeded, diced
  • 4 each dates, chopped
  • 2 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 habanero, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 cups apple and pears, cored, seeded diced, skin on
  • 1/2 cup quince paste (purchase commercial brand)
  • 1 red bell pepper, minced

Method:

Combine sugar and vinegar. Simmer five minutes and add orange zest, orange, lime, dates, garlic and habanero. Simmer mixture for 20-25 minutes and add ground ginger, apples, pears, and bell pepper and cook for 0-15 minutes more. Cool to serve and hold in the refrigerator.
